Volleyball Recap: John Paul II Cardinals vs. Prestonwood Christian Lions
It was a proper cat-fight when John Paul II faced off against Prestonwood Christian on Saturday. The Cardinals fell 2-0 to the Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in August.
While John Paul II was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-21.
Their offense was headlined by Chloe Gerlach and Bella Howard, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Lucy Schwabauer and her 21 assists. Finally, Aubrey Easterwood kept John Paul II's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.
This is the second loss in a row for John Paul II and nudges their season record down to 26-11. As for Prestonwood Christian, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-4.
