Softball Recap: Heritage Gets the Win

Heritage proved they can win big on Friday (they won by nine) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the McQueen Lancers 4-2. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered an 8-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Heritage has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for McQueen, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Coming up, Heritage will square off against Reed at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for McQueen, they will be taking part in a tournament against Churchill County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
