Recap: Canyon View Falcons vs. Richfield Wildcats
The Canyon View Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Richfield 36-32. Canyon View has struggled against Richfield recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Canyon View still got an impressive performance from Maylee Spencer, who scored ten points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Bethanee Vargas, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Richfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Abbee Albrecht led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Albrecht's third in a row with at least ten points. Brielle Jolley was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Canyon View's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Richfield, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Canyon View will head out on the road to face off against North Sanpete at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (North Sanpete is ranked 71st, while Canyon View is ranked 67th). As for Richfield, they will be playing at home against Manti at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Manti focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Tuesday.
