Basketball Game Preview: Monroe Redhawks vs. West Mecklenburg Hawks + How To Watch

The Monroe Redhawks will head out to challenge the West Mecklenburg Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Monroe took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Central, sneaking past 56-54. The Redhawks haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Monroe got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayden Caudle out in front who shot 56% from the field on his way to 14 points. Those 14 points gave Caudle a new career-high. Ashad Staton was another key player, putting up eight points and 11 rebounds.

Monroe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central only pulled down five offensive rebounds.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Mecklenburg). They blew past Stuart W. Cramer, posting a 74-34 win. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Hawks with their most commanding win of the season.

Monroe better focus on containing Arion Walkup and Rj Grier as the pair were huge in West Mecklenburg's win. Walkup went 6-for-9 en route to 13 points and five steals, while Grier shot 62% from the field to rack up 20 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Nasir White, who posted seven points and eight assists.

The victory got Monroe back to even at 1-1. As for West Mecklenburg, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
