Basketball Recap: Trinity Takes a Loss

Trinity was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 57-36 to the Providence Grove Patriots. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 441st, while the Patriots are ranked 185th).

Despite the loss, Trinity still got an impressive performance from Ava Nance, who posted nine points and six boards. What's more, Nance also posted a 50% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in November of 2024. Madison Hill was another key player, putting up 15 points and three steals.

Trinity's defeat dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Providence Grove, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-7.

Trinity does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Providence Grove, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 56-49 loss against Uwharrie Charter Academy on the 18th.
