Baseball Game Preview: Joplin Eagles vs. Nixa Eagles

Joplin hasn't had much luck against Nixa recently, but that could start to change on Monday. Joplin will be playing in front of their home fans against Nixa at 4:30 p.m. Joplin's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Nixa's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Har-Ber hit Joplin with a four-run second inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles fell 8-3 to the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, Nixa waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They never let the Pirates get on the board and left with a 13-0 win. Considering the Eagles have won six matchups by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Joplin's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Nixa, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.

Joplin came out on top in a nail-biter against Nixa in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, sneaking past 3-1. Will Joplin repeat their success, or does Nixa has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
