Football Recap: Fennville Comes Up Short

Fennville lost against New Buffalo back in August of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Blackhawks had to suffer through a 42-14 loss at the hands of the Bison. The Blackhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

It was another big night for Colten Lijewski, who rushed for 212 yards and three scores while picking up 10.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 340 yards and three TDs while picking up 16.2 yards per attempt for New Buffalo. Those 340 passing yards gave Lijewski a new career-high.

Fennville now has a losing record of 2-3. As for New Buffalo, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Fennville will square off against Our Lady of the Lake Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blackhawks will be up against the Lakers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.6 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for New Buffalo, they will take on NorthPointe Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
