Preview: Hillcrest Jaguars vs. Thomasville Tigers
The Hillcrest Jaguars are on the road again on Friday and play against the Thomasville Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th. Hillcrest knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Thomasville likes a good challenge.
Last Tuesday, Hillcrest didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Escambia County, but they still walked away with a 59-54 win.
Hillcrest's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jermonte Stallworth led the charge by scoring 17 points along with 6 assists and 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of J.T> Barlow , who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals.
Meanwhile, Thomasville was able to grind out a solid victory over Flomaton on Tuesday, taking the game 48-39.
Hillcrest has yet to lose a game on the road this season, leaving them with a 6-2 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Thomasville, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.
Everything came up roses for Hillcrest against Thomasville in their previous meeting back in December of 2021 as the team secured a 66-38 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hillcrest since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
