Recap: Our Lady of the Sun Academy vs. Caurus Academy
Our Lady of the Sun Academy were the 56-26 winner over Caurus Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Our Lady of the Sun Academy took a 51-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Caurus Academy on Monday. While losing is never fun, Our Lady of the Sun Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while Caurus Academy is ranked 43rd).
Despite the loss, Our Lady of the Sun Academy had strong showings from Joseph Reiss, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds, and Brady Webster, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was Reiss' fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Our Lady of the Sun Academy are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3. As for Caurus Academy, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Verde Valley the next time they take the court. Caurus Academy will host Verde Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Our Lady of the Sun Academy will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
