Volleyball Recap: Commerce Falls Despite Big Games from Lakyn Redmon and Arianna Tuttle + How To Watch

It was a good run, but Commerce unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Elbert County Blue Devils. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Commerce was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Elbert County work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-18.

Despite the loss, Commerce had strong showings from Arianna Tuttle, who had 16 digs and two aces, and Lakyn Redmon, who had six digs. Sara Pledger also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Commerce's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Elbert County, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-5.

Coincidentally, Commerce and Elbert County will both be playing Athens Academy the next time they take the court. The Blue Devils will head out to face the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
