Basketball Game Preview: Denver Waldorf Spartans vs. Denver Jewish Day Tigers

The Denver Waldorf Spartans will face off against the Denver Jewish Day Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Denver Waldorf has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Denver Waldorf turned things around against STEM School Highlands Ranch on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 40-17 margin over the Spartans. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Denver Waldorf has posted since December 3, 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Denver Waldorf to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lara Gregory, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. Those ten rebounds gave Gregory a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maelen Roybal, who posted six points along with eight boards and four steals.

Denver Waldorf smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Denver Jewish Day duked it out withCampion Academy on Monday. Denver Jewish Day fell 48-38 to Campion Academy. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Denver Waldorf's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Denver Jewish Day, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Everything came up roses for Denver Waldorf against Denver Jewish Day in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, as the squad secured a 65-13 win. In that game, Denver Waldorf amassed a halftime lead of 33-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
