Volleyball Game Preview: Pickerington North Panthers vs. New Albany Eagles

Pickerington North and New Albany are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2021, but not for long. The Panthers will face off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Pickerington North duked it out with Pickerington Central on Thursday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Tigers. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Pickerington North was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-13, 25-14.

Among those leading the charge was Gavin Venetta, who had 15 digs. Those 15 digs gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, New Albany entered their tilt with Big Walnut on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Golden Eagles 3-0.

New Albany never let Big Walnut on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-14, 25-20.

New Albany's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Pickerington North, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Pickerington North took their win against New Albany when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
