Canisius owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the St. Francis Raiders /Red. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Raiders /Red recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

The result came thanks to Josh Kandefer's shutout, as he gave up just five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Canisius saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justin Ostempowski, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Blake Smith also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Canisius' victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for St. Francis, they dropped their record down to 2-11 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Canisius will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Raiders /Red: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
