Volleyball Recap: Madison's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Madison can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Columbus East Olympians by a score of 3-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cubs also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Madison walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the fourth set). The final score came out to 25-22, 22-25, 25-17, 25-14.

Branson Cline paced Madison's offense, picking up 15 kills. Cline got some help from Aiden Smith and his 47 assists. Nick Jines controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Madison's victory bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Columbus East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Madison will square off against rival Columbus North at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in the Cubs' favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Bull Dogs have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. Meanwhile, Columbus East is set to challenge their familiar foe Warren Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
