Baseball Game Preview: Venture Academy Mustangs vs. Argonaut Mustangs

Venture Academy will face off against Argonaut at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Venture Academy and four for Argonaut.

On Friday, Venture Academy came up short against River Islands and fell 9-4.

Dillon Gouker made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Angelo Carranza also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Argonaut also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Liberty Ranch by a score of 9-5.

Sam Jones was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Constance, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.

Venture Academy's record is now 2-8. As for Argonaut, their record now sits at 5-8.

Venture Academy's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's matchup. Venture Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Argonaut, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Venture Academy continue to outrun the ball?

Venture Academy might still be hurting after the 19-2 loss they got from Argonaut when the teams last played back in February. Can Venture Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
