On Monday Chasen Lovin struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). The performance marked the fewest hits Lovin has had over his last four matchups. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his sixth in a row with more than five strikeouts. This year, he has an ERA of 1.64 over 42.7 innings pitched.

Even though Lovin couldn't lead Lakeway Christian Academy over Christian Academy of Knoxville, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions haven't beaten the Warriors recently, having gone 0-9 since March of 2021.
