Canyon Crest Academy is 1-6 against El Camino since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Ravens will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. Canyon Crest Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Canyon Crest Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Oceanside and fell 12-11. The Ravens have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Alexis McNamee made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Sophie Kearse was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, El Camino entered their tilt with Vista on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Panthers an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won eight matches by seven runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Kailey Stanford, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Vista off the board. Stanford has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Makayla Boone was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ai'Lynnd A'Ano, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Canyon Crest Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8-1. As for El Camino, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Canyon Crest Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like El Camino struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
