Volleyball Recap: Ironwood Comes Up Short

Ironwood lost against Sunnyslope back in October of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 2-1.

When it comes to explaining why Ironwood lost, don't look at Ashley Logan. Despite the final result, she had 28 assists. Logan is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 19 games she's played dating back to last season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sunnyslope to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaelyn Simmons, who had 14 assists and seven digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayes Haan, who had 11 kills.

Ironwood now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Sunnyslope, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Ironwood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Desert Mountain on the 6th. As for Sunnyslope, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Prescott on the 5th.
