Basketball Game Preview: Hoke County Bucks vs. Dillon Christian Warriors

The Hoke County Bucks will be taking part in a tournament against the Dillon Christian Warriors at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hoke County has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight losses, while Dillon Christian will come in with four straight wins.

Hoke County lost 78-58 to High Point Christian Academy last Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Bucks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 315th, while the Cougars are ranked 60th).

Meanwhile, Dillon Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Southeastern Christian Academy on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 68-64 victory.

Hoke County better focus on containing Thompson Stone and Jackson Outlar as the pair were huge in Dillon Christian's win. Stone went 10 of 23 on his way to 32 points along with seven boards and five assists, while Outlar dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Stone's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Blackman, who posted five points and four steals.

Dillon Christian pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Hoke County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
