Basketball Recap: South Range Comes Up Short

South Range extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 7-9. They lost 49-27 to the Mineral Ridge Rams. The matchup marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

As for Mineral Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Mineral Ridge was led to victory by Gianna Gilbert and Sullivan Sandy. Gilbert posted 19 points in addition to seven boards and five assists, while Sandy went 6-for-15 on her way to 12 points and four steals. Sandy is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Brystal Mills, who put up six points.

Coming up, South Range will be playing in front of their home fans against Austintown-Fitch at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Mineral Ridge, they will host McDonald at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
