Basketball Game Preview: Miller Grove Wolverines vs. Columbia Eagles

Miller Grove is 2-8 against Columbia since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Miller Grove Wolverines will be playing at home against the Columbia Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Miller Grove comes in on five and Columbia on three.

On Saturday, Miller Grove was able to grind out a solid victory over South Atlanta, taking the game 55-43.

Miller Grove's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but McKenzie Ward led the charge by shooting 5-for-6 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten boards. Ward has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaeslyn Benjamin, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 17 points along with six rebounds and five steals.

Meanwhile, Columbia was fully in charge last Friday, breezing past Redan 65-22. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.

Columbia is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.7 points per game. As for Miller Grove, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.
