Baseball Recap: Pike Road Victorious

Pike Road posted their closest victory since March 27, 2024 on Wednesday. They skirted past the Piedmont Bulldogs 5-4.

Ethan Hunter looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Pike Road is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 6-12 otherwise.

At the plate, Herbert Reyes was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Quinton Robinson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-4.

Pike Road kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Pike Road's win bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Piedmont, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

When Pike Road and Piedmont next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Pike Road will challenge Central and their five-game winning streak at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Piedmont will try to stop Pleasant Valley's five-game winning streak when they meet at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
