Basketball Preview: Montgomery Red Raiders vs. Muncy Indians
Montgomery is 1-9 against the Indians since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Montgomery Red Raiders will be playing at home against the Muncy Indians at 7:30 p.m. Montgomery will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 645th, while the Indians are ranked 300th).
Last Wednesday, things could have been worse for Montgomery, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 71-52 loss to the Golden Knights. Montgomery was down 54-33 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Meanwhile, Muncy stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They breezed by Bucktail on the road to the tune of 78-38. The win was nothing new for Muncy as they're now sitting on five straight.
It was another big night for Noah Confer, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Nathan Rogers, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Montgomery dropped their record down to 5-9 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Muncy, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
