Recap: Tri-Valley Bulldogs vs. Halifax Wildcats
The Tri-Valley Bulldogs put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Halifax with points to spare, taking the game 49-35. Given Tri-Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Halifax is ranked 313th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tri-Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dawsyn Manning, who scored eight points along with five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for him. Layne Yoder was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five assists.
Tri-Valley pushed their record up to 7-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Halifax, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
Tri-Valley will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Upper Dauphin Area at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Upper Dauphin Area has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Halifax will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Line Mountain at 7:30 a.m. on January 2, 2024. Line Mountain will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
