Volleyball Recap: Taunton Takes a Loss

Taunton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Franklin Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-11, 25-19.

Despite the loss, Taunton saw an underclassman step up: freshman Amia Soito had five digs and one block.

Emma Cunningham was the offensive standout of the match as she had seven digs and three aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September. Abby Clark also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Taunton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Franklin, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Taunton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Durfee on the 15th. As for Franklin, they will square off against Attleboro at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
