Basketball Recap: Ellie Menning Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat American Heritage

Intermountain Christian lost to American Heritage back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Intermountain Christian Lions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 43-41 win over the American Heritage Patriots. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Intermountain Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ellie Menning, who posted seven points along with five assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella DuBois, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Intermountain Christian's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for American Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Intermountain Christian will host Vanguard Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for American Heritage, they will welcome American Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. American Leadership Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something American Heritage surely won't give up without a fight.
