Basketball Recap: Western Christian Takes a Loss

Western Christian won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were beaten by the San Gabriel Academy Eagles 76-33. The Fighting Lancers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-20.

Western Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cole Burdette, who posted five points.

Western Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season. As for San Gabriel Academy, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-10.

Western Christian will square off against Fairmont Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Western Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.1 points per game this season. San Gabriel Academy has already played their next matchup (against Chisholm Trail Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
