Softball Recap: Larue County Takes a Loss

After flying high against Caverna on Monday, Larue County came back down to earth. The Hawks fell just short of the Green County Dragons by a score of 7-6 on Wednesday. The Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Dragons earlier this season, when they won 9-7.

Heidi Tipton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Emmaline Engle was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Druen, who went 3-for-4 with one triple and one double.

Larue County's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 26-6. As for Green County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-13.

As of now, neither Larue County nor the Dragons have any future games scheduled.
