Soccer Game Preview: Latin vs. Lycee Francais de Chicago

The Latin Romans are taking a road trip to challenge Lycee Francais de Chicago at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Latin's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over North Shore Country Day. The result was nothing new for Latin, who have now won four matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting North Shore Country Day from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Lauren Rosenberg led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lycee Francais de Chicago). Everything went their way against Beacon Academy on Friday as they made off with a 9-0 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Latin pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those five games. As for Lycee Francais de Chicago, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Latin took their victory against Lycee Francais de Chicago in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Romans since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
