Softball Recap: Master's Academy Wins Going Away Against Lake Highland Prep

While Master's Academy put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Lake Highland Prep. Master's Academy blew past Lake Highland Prep 10-0. Considering the Eagles have won five games by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Reagan Peri was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Lauren McMeel was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Claire Aaron also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Master's Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. Lake Highland Prep is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Master's Academy has already played their next contest, a 7-6 win against Tavares on the 24th. As for Lake Highland Prep, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Olympia at 4:30 p.m. on the 27th. Olympia has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.22 runs per game on average), something Lake Highland Prep will no doubt try to take advantage of.
