Baseball Recap: Ridge Community Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Ridge Community can now relate to. They fell 11-7 to the Winter Haven Blue Devils on Tuesday. The Bolts have struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Mathew Conde made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Omir Santos was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Ridge Community's defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Winter Haven, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-14 record this season.

Ridge Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Winter Haven, they will face off against George Jenkins at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Blue Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
