Football Game Preview: Paradise Panthers vs. Peaster Greyhounds

The Paradise Panthers will face off against the Peaster Greyhounds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Peaster will be up against a hot Paradise squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Panthers simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Iowa Park 43-7. 43 seems to be a good number for the Panthers as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Peaster last Friday. Everything went their way against Iowa Park as they made off with a 46-20 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Greyhounds' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the Hawks are ranked 588th).

Peaster found their leader in sophomore Hudson Salyers, who rushed for 169 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, and also picked up 51 receiving yards. Those three rushing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for Salyers.

Peaster didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Iowa Park to a completion percentage of just 38.1%. The Greyhounds have been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.63 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.63 in their last three games.

Peaster didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mark Tullous and Rhett Kelley. Tullous is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season.

Paradise's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Peaster, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.

Paradise took their victory against Peaster in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 35-14 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Greyhounds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
