Football Recap: Forsyth's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Forsyth walked away with it. They secured a 33-29 W over the Springfield Catholic Fighting Irish on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Forsyth's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tamarkus Holmes, who rushed for 137 yards and one TD while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also picked up 59 receiving yards. Holmes was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 56 yards. Thomas Strahan was another key pass catcher, picking up 77 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Forsyth was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 276 rushing yards. They are a perfect 8-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Forsyth's record now sits at 8-3. As for Springfield Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-3 record this season.

Forsyth will square off against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups. Springfield Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
