Preview: University City vs. St. Augustine
University City is 1-8-1 against St. Augustine in play since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. University City will head out on the road to take on St. Augustine at 3:00 p.m.
Last Wednesday, University City and Coronado ended up with a point apiece after a 2-2 draw.
University City avoided a loss thanks to
Everado Diaz de Leon and
Diego Garcia who posted.
Meanwhile, St. Augustine had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.2 goals), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They didn't even let Point Loma onto the board and left with a 3-0 victory. St. Augustine might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won six matches by three goals or more this season.
University City's draw makes their record 5-7-3 on the season. As for St. Augustine, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2-2 record this season.
University City suffered a grim 6-1 defeat to St. Augustine in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can University City avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
