The Palmview Lobos will face off against the Roma Gladiators at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Palmview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Palmview gave up the first runs last Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Mission 7-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lobos.

Abigail Cantu spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up seven Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February.
On the hitting side, Sydney Salinas was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Marina Rodriguez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Salinas wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Palmview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. Palmview is a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Roma had to endure a 13-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Martin with a sharp 15-5 victory on Tuesday. The Gladiators not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 12, 2024.
Roma got a massive performance out of Madelyn Garcia, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Aitzaely Garcia, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.
Palmview pushed their record up to 6-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to strikeouts: they averaged an imposing 9.4 strikeouts in those games compared to only 2.38 in the others. As for Roma, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-11.
Roma's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Palmview has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Roma, though, as they've been averaging 9.6 hits. Given Palmview's sizable advantage in that area, Roma will need to find a way to close that gap.
Palmview took their win against Roma when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0. Will Palmview repeat their success, or does Roma have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
