Basketball Recap: Emma Lou Franks Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Marion County

Jasper lost to Marion County back in November of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Jasper Vikings enjoyed a cozy 46-31 victory over the Marion County Red Raiders.

Jasper's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emma Lou Franks, who went 6 for 14 en route to 16 points. The dominant performance gave Franks a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Marianna Rigsby, who posted eight points and three steals.

Jasper has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season. As for Marion County, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 16-7 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jasper will face off against Cullman at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Jasper is facing Cullman at the right time seeing as Cullman is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Marion County, they will square off against Vina at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
