Baseball Recap: Somerton Comes Up Short

Somerton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Yuma Criminals, falling 9-2.

Somerton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Santiago Victoria, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

Somerton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Yuma, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 13-7-2.

Looking ahead, Somerton is taking a road trip to face off against Kingman at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Yuma, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cortez at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Colts have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.41 runs per game on average), something the Criminals will no doubt try to take advantage of.
