Volleyball Recap: Benton Comes Up Short

Benton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to Varsity Opponent. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Varsity Opponent this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Saturday.

Benton's offense was headlined by River Curtis and Vanessa Vosberg, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Arianna Stochl and her six assists. Finally, Curtis was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Benton's loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Benton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against West Carroll on the 20th. Varsity Opponent has also already played their next contest (against Sugar Hill Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
