Basketball Game Preview: Jersey Village Falcons vs. Cypress Ridge Rams

The Jersey Village Falcons will face off against the Cypress Ridge Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jersey Village is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Jersey Village is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Cypress Falls on Friday. Jersey Village lost 63-37 to Cypress Falls. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 650th, while the Eagles are ranked 140th).

Despite the loss, Jersey Village saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Champion Ellis Jr. went 9 for 12 en route to 18 points and seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ellis Jr. has scored all season. Bryce Jones was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Cypress Ridge came into Friday's game having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victor by a 53-33 margin over Northbrook on Friday. That 20 point margin sets a new team best for the Rams this season.

Cypress Ridge's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-18. As for Jersey Village, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-18.

Jersey Village came out on top in a nail-biter against Cypress Ridge in their previous meeting on January 4th, sneaking past 46-44. Will Jersey Village repeat their success, or does Cypress Ridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
