Volleyball Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They came up short against the Branham Bruins, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-13, 25-17.

Joden Agbayani paced Independence's offense, picking up seven kills. Agbayani got some help from Kyle Nguyen and his seven assists. Joseph Dotado controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Branham, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Independence will challenge rival Leigh at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Branham is set to square off against their familiar foe Piedmont Hills at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
