Baseball Recap: Watkins Memorial Triumphs

Watkins Memorial won the last time they faced Hayes and things went their way on Saturday too. The Warriors skirted past the Pacers 5-3.

Brody Kemmerling tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Bradley Vincent was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Brayden Windnagel was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Watkins Memorial is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Hayes, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-11.

Watkins Memorial and Hayes are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Warriors will host Logan at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hayes, they will head out to take on St. Charles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
