Soccer Game Preview: St. Stanislaus vs. Gulfport

The St. Stanislaus Rock-a-Chaws will venture away from home to square off against the Gulfport Admirals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Stanislaus will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Friday, St. Stanislaus sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Oak Grove. Given the Rock-a-Chaws' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Warriors are ranked 50th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Gulfport kept a clean sheet against Sacred Heart last Thursday. They had just enough and edged the Crusaders out 1-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Admirals.

St. Stanislaus' victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 35 goals over those seven contests. As for Gulfport, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-1-2 record this season.
