Volleyball Recap: Somerset College Prepartory Academy South Takes a Loss

Somerset College Prepartory Academy South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Mater Bay Academy Rays. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rays earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Somerset College Prepartory Academy South was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Mater Bay Academy work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-15, 25-21.

Mater Bay Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gianni Alonso out in front who had ten kills.

Somerset College Prepartory Academy South's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Mater Bay Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Somerset College Prepartory Academy South will face off against Westwood Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mater Bay Academy, they will be playing at home against International Studies at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Considering the Rays have lost six straight at home (dating back to last season) and International Studies four straight on the road, this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.
