Basketball Game Preview: Kanab Cowboys vs. American Prep WV Eagles

The Kanab Cowboys will challenge the American Prep WV Eagles at 11:10 a.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Kanab comes in on six and American Prep WV on nine.

Kanab is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They strolled past Grand County with points to spare, taking the game 72-55. The Cowboys pushed the score to 51-31 by the end of the third, a deficit the Red Devils cut but never quite recovered from.

Merit Preparatory Academy typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday American Prep WV proved too difficult a challenge. They took down the Knights 73-56.

American Prep WV's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points over those games. As for Kanab, their win bumped their record up to 20-4.

Kanab might still be hurting after the 74-53 defeat they got from American Prep WV when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Kanab avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
