Softball Game Preview: Coginchaug Regional Blue Devils vs. St. Bernard Saints

The Coginchaug Regional Blue Devils will take on the St. Bernard Saints at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Coginchaug Regional will be strutting in after a victory while St. Bernard will be coming in after a loss.

Coginchaug Regional's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Portland as they made off with a 12-0 win. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, St. Bernard didn't have quite enough to beat Notre Dame Prep on Saturday and fell 3-2.

Madison Scribner made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Kaitlyn Scribner also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Coginchaug Regional is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for St. Bernard, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
