The Clear Creek Golddiggers will head out on the road to take on the Denver Academy Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Clear Creek will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Clear Creek barely beat South Park the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Golddiggers were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the Burros on Friday. With that victory, the Golddiggers brought their scoring average up to 7.3 runs per game.

Landon Lewis made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1. He is becoming a predictor of Clear Creek's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 0-3 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ski Hull, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Zephyr Schuessler, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Clear Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Denver Academy lost 13-1 to Estes Park on Thursday. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Bobcats recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Denver Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brendan King, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Denver Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Clear Creek, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Clear Creek's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's matchup. The Golddiggers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Denver Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Clear Creek continue to outrun the ball?
Clear Creek suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Denver Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Golddiggers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
