Softball Recap: Forest Wildcats vs. Lecanto Panthers

Forest made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Lecanto, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Forest Wildcats were the clear victor by a 12-2 margin over the Lecanto Panthers on Friday. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 7-1 victory the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Reagan Quinn made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Quinn was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other pitching news, Makenna Boyd looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Forest got a massive performance out of Rilynn Fountain, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Forest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lecanto only posted a batting average of .308.
