Football Preview: Troup Tigers vs. Rusk Eagles
The Troup Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Rusk Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Troup will be strutting in after a win while Rusk will be coming in after a loss.
Troup took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They strolled past Harleton with points to spare, taking the game 31-14.
Brett Wells went supernova for Troup, rushing for 225 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.8 yards per carry, and also picking up 34 receiving yards. Wells also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing two fumbles and making 15 total tackles (1.0 for loss). Hayden Huml was another key player, picking up 100 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Rusk was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 24-19 to Diboll.
Troup's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Rusk, they now also have a losing record at 1-2.
