Basketball Recap: East St. Louis Takes a Loss

East St. Louis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 43-30 to the Belleville West Maroons. The Flyers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Maroons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

East St. Louis' loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Belleville West, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-6.

East St. Louis will take on STEAM Academy at McCluer South Berkeley in a holiday battle at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Belleville West, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Metro at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
