It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Garfield ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Chief Sealth Seahawks 5-4. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 2-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Wyatt Bare tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, Elijah King was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Taylor Woods was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

The victory made it two in a row for Garfield and bumps their season record up to 5-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Chief Sealth, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5.

Garfield wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-1 loss against Eastside Catholic on the 11th. As for Chief Sealth, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 9-8 victory against Nathan Hale on the 11th.
